It's with a heavy heart that I come to you today to say that White Space is going on haitus indefintely.

I've mentioned before how we've been experiencing financial issues and need more income.

Unfortunately, what I make from Patreon doesn't justify the amount of time I spend on making pages, thus I have to focus on other means that do.

This means there will be no longer regular updates of the comic. I will make pages when I have time, reverting White Space to what it once was for me: a hobby.

The Patreon will remain open for those big-hearted souls that still want to support me, but there were no longer be set rewards. The Patreon will thus become a kind of 'tip jar'. If it gets enough financial backing, I will consider coming back to posting more pages, concepts and art.

The comic will remain available to read on ComicFury and DeviantArt, but I will be shutting down the Webtoons and Instagram in the near future, thus going back to my two staple websites - the places I started out on.

To my Patrons: Thank you, thank you, thank you for the endless support, kind words, suggestions and enthusiasm. You are welcome to keep pledging. You are welcome to stop.

Just know that whatever you choose to do, I will remain grateful that out of the over 500+ readers of White Space, you were the backers that made constant uploads and storytelling possible.

I realize as well that there were literally 2-4 pages left of the chapter and I wanted to at least finish those before this announcement.

But with the news IRL and the realization that what I loved doing and believed I would do for at least another year, I just couldn't even bear looking at or even thinking about my story or characters.

Mentally, I just need some time before I can draw a page without heartache.

I apologize for the abrupt news and choice of action.

It's been 10 years of feeling hopeful and I'm a bit tired. I want to put this behind me, mourn and move on.

With the comic’s chapter 5 comic to an end soon, I’d like to showcase some other artist’s talents while I set up for chapter 6!

Your comic will be hosted on ComicFury, Webtoon, Instagram and DeviantArt (it will be added to the dA White Space group in it’s own folder)

You will be credited of course, and linked to social medias/websites/portfolios of your choice!

If you are interested, please DM me. Don’t submit anything without me knowing you’re gonna do so, please!

Create a piece of fanart with the White Space Comic and it's characters as inspiration and win one of 3 prizes!

Rules:

It must be a new piece of art. No submitting old fanart, please!

The artwork can be about anything, as long as it features one or more of the White Space characters. Gender-swaps, meme-related, canon illustration, AU (your own or featured ones that the creator has made), etc. Let your creativity flow!

Keep your entries as family-friendly as possible. At most a PG13 rating; No full nudity, excessive gore, swearing or overtly sexual themes. (If these things are implied, that is fine!)

You are allowed to feature your own characters or yourself in a piece!

In your description, mention when and why you started reading the comic and what you like about it!

Tag AbnormallyNice in the description, so that she can see your entry (and that she can add it to the Contest folder in the White Space dA group)! If you post your entry on other platforms, you can also tag us on Tumblr( @whitespacecomic), Instagram(@white_space_comic) and Twitter(@WhiteSpaceComic).

You can only win in one category; you can enter all three categories to better your chances, but you will only receive one prize.

Judging

Your piece will be judged on creativity and effort. That doesn't mean someone with less experience in their medium doesn't stand a chance! If your piece shows effort, creativity and time, you have a chance to win! Judging will not be up to the creator only, but multiple unbiased people (including our editor, Yuunic).

Each will win a free commission from AbnormallyNice, creator of the White Space Comic! A piece of 1-3 characters, from anything to sketch or fully rendered, detailed background illustration!

Due to people in my town/country not paying their electrical bills, our power company has issued times where they will be  shutting off our electricity. Yes, even for the people who did pay their bills. And not just an hour or two each week, more like 6+ hours every day during the most inopportune times (During Christmas it'll even be off from 6am to 8pm!!).

Because of this, comic pages will be halted because I just won't have the resources or time to do them, along with my job (which I do at home and require electricity) and other IRL responsibilities.

For Patrons, I have paused pledges for the month,  so you should not be billed this coming January. For new patrons however, you will be billed once you sign up, as part of the 'Charge Up Front' option enabled for the page (so if you want  to plegde, maybe do so at the start of the new year ovob)

Comic pages will halt but I will still be posting art, concepts and sketches when I am able!
